The former Welsh international has been working as Head Coach since June 2015 to the Namibia Rugby Union but will now take on a much more hands-on coaching role at Rugby World Cup 2015 and beyond.
In a short period of time, Phil Davies has built a stronger national team. One of the first things he did was to get his side in shape. He has created a high-performance centre at the national stadium in the UK to train his new team.
The result? Russia, Kenya and Zimbabwe have all been defeated in the past couple of months. And in the long term, Davies has big ideas. He drives for hours to watch club games in tiny towns, and wants to forge stronger links with the relatively strong school rugby scene.
